                            What is Air Activated Heating?

Our air activated heating apparel uses Heat Pax inserts which have a special iron compound that actually generates heat when it is exposed to the air.  The packets are completely non-toxic and biodegradable and will last for hours.  They generate up to 137 degrees of warmth so you will be toasty in the coldest of climates. 

The beauty is in that they do not need to be microwaved so you can be out in the field, and just open them for instantaneous warmth that will last for hours.  You can use them multiple times (up to their specified life) by sealing in an airtight container or ziploc when not in use.  They are inexpensive (less than $1) and can be purchased at any sporting goods store (in the ski department).

Because they generate so much heat, it is recommended that you work up to the warmth you like.  This also saves on not overusing the Heat Pax.  Our vests hold 8 Heat Pax but if you were to put 8 warmers in, you would probably be too hot.  The 8 pockets are nice though because you can target the areas where you want the warmth, especially on tired or aching muscles.
